Dear Connie and family,
I am saddened and shocked to hear of your loss. Tonight I wandered by the DSR website just to catch up only to learn the sad news. I will always remember the kind and welcoming manner Mike ran the DSR. We truly miss those days whether it was due to the simpler time or the fact we were all younger. I am so sorry for your loss and send my deepest sympathy and care even though I can not be there.

So very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a great guy and one of the first people that made me feel welcome fishing at the Douglaston Salmon Run. He always had a smile and a willingness to share in the moment. He will be missed.

Mike RIP. I know we didn't see a lot of each other though out the years. But there is one thing that can't be taken away, and that's the memories that we did share when the Miller and Hinman clan got together. We are and always will be cousins. You will be missed Mike.

We came to know Mike for a day, he showed us two properties and yet for the short time we were with him we felt touched by the respect, dignity, and forthrightness this man showed to our family. Our plans were to come to know him better but the chance will not be there for now. Very sad to hear of Mike's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Even though I did not see Mike often whenever our paths would cross he would always make time to ask how everything was going and sincerely cared. I remember always feeling after speaking with and seeing Mike that there was a guy who totally loved everything about his life. He was and is at peace. RIP my friend. God Bless.

Connie my thoughts are prayers are with u and have been since I had heard of Mikes passing.. He was such a kind soul and always full of knowledge and stories of the woods and can't forget his clog dancing on the fun Friday nights we used to have.. Always enjoyed visiting with him at the club and kids enjoyed his humor and picking..and the time u had the kids and I up in the winter when he showed kids how to make fire in the snow.. I was crushed when I learned of Mike's passing. We were a "Band of Brothers" while growing up. Even though time and miles has separated us, that bond is as strong today as it was back then. I learned of Mike's passing while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas. I went to a beach I had all to myself and held my own private service. It was a beautiful tranquil ocean, beach and sky. I thought of you and your families, and snickered at flashback moments with Mike. It was soothing to be in the great outdoors that Mike loved so much. My son Andrew was ordained a Catholic priest a couple of weeks ago and we are offering a mass this weekend for you, your families and Mike. Where ever my friend Mike was, he made the world a better place.
