Michael R. Miller

Michael R. Miller, 58, Lowville, NY, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2016 at his home.  He was born May 1, 1958 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Marilyn Genever and George L. Miller Jr.

Mike grew up in Liverpool and graduated from Liverpool High School in 1976.  He was employed as River Keeper for Douglaston Salmon Run for over ten years, and recently was an acquisition agent for Moose River Land Company and New York Land Quest.  In his earlier years he managed concessions for Araserve at  the Onondaga War Memorial and for the Syracuse Chiefs.  He was also co-owner of Unique Rentals with his good friend Jim Falk.

Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman and was active in the Lowville Fish and Game Club.  He was inducted into the New York State Big Buck Club in 2013.

Mike is survived by his wife, Connie (Rogers) Miller; his father, George L. Miller, Jr. and his wife Ruby of Wagoner, OK;  two brothers:  George L. (Patricia), Oneida, NY;  Andrew  (Ximena), Clay, NY;  one sister, Rebecca, Liverpool, NY; his mother and father-in-law; three brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews, two grand-nieces and his dog, Scout.  Mike also leaves behind many devoted friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn Genever, and an infant sister, Jennifer.

Calling hours will be held July 10 from 1:00 to 3:00 with a service to follow at the Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square, NY.  Condolences may be shared online at isenekerfuneralhome.com.
