BEAVER FALLS- Pearl T. Sienkiewicz, 88, of Main Street, passed away Friday afternoon, March 22, 2019 at her home, under the loving care of her family, her caregivers and Lewis County Hospice.
A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 28, 2019 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan, with Rev. Donald Manfred, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lewis County Head Start, P.O. Box 206, Lowville, NY 13367.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Joseph; four children, Michael (Loretta) Sienkiewicz of Frederick, MD, Peter Sienkiewicz of Athol, MA, Matthew (Jori) Sienkiewicz of Warrenton, VA, Andrea Marilley of Watertown; seven grandchildren, Cathleen Camara, Joseph Sienkiewicz, Eric and Adam Sienkiewicz, Alexandra, Julia and Andrew Marilley; four great grandchildren, Mariah, Adriana, Clara, and Noah Sienkiewicz; two sisters, Catherine “Kay” Whittington, of Fort Washington, MD, Lorraine Weaver of Frederick, MD; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Petra Sienkiewicz; three sisters, Mildred Toth, Joan DeVeau Anderson, Sandra DeVeau; three brothers, Arthur, DeVeau, Gerald “Dee” DeVeau, and Robert DeVeau; two brothers-in-law, Howard Whittington, and Jim Weaver.
Mrs. Sienkiewicz was born on July 11, 1930 in Wakefield, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late John and Beatrice Meuse DeVeau. She graduated from Wakefield High School in Wakefield, MA. On September 13, 1952, she married Joseph A. Sienkiewicz at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wakefield, MA. In 1977, Mr. Sienkiewicz moved to Lowville, NY for his job with Pajco Inc. In August, 1978, the family moved to their current residence in Beaver Falls. From 1985-1991, Mrs. Sienkiewicz worked at Lewis County Head Start in Lowville.
She was a communicant and active member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan. She enjoyed raising her family, dancing, and playing cards.
The family would like to thank Lewis County Office of the Aging, Lewis County Hospice and all of the caregivers for their love and kindness shown to Pearl and Joe during this difficult time.
