Marsha L. (Illingworth) Youngs

GLENFIELD- Marsha L. Youngs, 76, of Pine Grove Road, passed away Thursday evening at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Carthage.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, officiating.  Burial will be held privately at a later date.  There are no calling hours.  Contributions may be made in Marsha’s memory to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, The Upstate Foundation Inc., 750 East Adams Street, Syracuse, NY 13210.

Marsha is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Youngs Jr.; two sons and their companions, Darren Proulx and his companion, Katherine of Port Leyden; Chad Proulx and his companion, Cindy of Glenfield;  three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, LouAnn and Kevin Kennell of Castorland; and a sister-in-law, Diana Illingworth; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her three children, Sherri Proulx, David Proulx, and Renee Proulx; a great granddaughter; two brothers, Robert Illingworth, Ronald Illingworth; and a sister, Linda Lavallee.

She was born on November 25, 1946 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Phelps Illingworth and attended Beaver River Central School.  A marriage to David Proulx ended in divorce.  Marsha worked for AMF in Lowville, Beaverite in Croghan, and she did babysitting.  On May 28, 1988, she married Ronald F. Youngs Jr. at their home with Justice Owen Williams, officiating.  She then worked for Canteen of Carthage, and later US Care in Lowville until her retirement in 2008.  Marsha enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, camping, fishing, boating, most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
