Marlene Lyndaker Funeral Service Obituary

LOWVILLE – The funeral for Marlene A. Lyndaker, 81, formerly of Lowville, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. Lowville.  Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery.  She passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Cumberland Medical Center In Crossville, TN under the care of hospice.

Marlene is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rene E. and Susan Lyndaker of Lowville and Todd A. and Pamela Lyndaker of Crossville, TN; seven grandchildren, Lyndsey (Jason) Case, Sarah Lyndaker and fiancé Chris Eisel, Justin Lyndaker, Isaac Lyndaker, Bradley Hart, Danielle Levesque, Kylee (Vaughn) Robison, seven great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Cameryn, Marlee, Carter, Hadley, Logan and Alex; her siblings, David and Connie Zehr of Lowville, Donald and Carol Zehr of Sarasota, FL; Kathy Zehr of Sarasota, FL; Daniel and Scott Brotherton Zehr of Sheboygan Falls, WI; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Elton; and a sister, Ann Lehman.

Marlene was born on October 10, 1941 in Lowville, a daughter of the late Lloyd D. and Sarah V. Jantzi Zehr.  She attended Lowville Academy and graduated in the class of 1959.  On December 16, 1960, she married Elton A. Lyndaker at the First Mennonite Church of New Bremen with Rev. Donald Jantzi officiating. Together with her husband, they owned and operated a dairy farm on Route 26, Lowville from 1971-1988 which was then taken over by their son and daughter-in-law, Rene and Susan Lyndaker.  Marlene worked as a cook for several area restaurants over the years and also worked as an adult care giver for several families in the Lowville area.  Mr. Lyndaker passed away on October 2, 2017.  She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.  Marlene enjoyed spending winters in Florida and traveling.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
