Lila was born on January 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Samuel and Malinda Martin Gingerich and graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1954.  She married Kenneth E. Widrick on December 2, 1954 at Croghan Mennonite Church with Rev. Lloyd Boshart officiating. Lila accompanied her husband while he was in 1-W Service in Syracuse, NY and while there she worked at The House of the Good Shepard Hospital in the dietary department for two years.  Following his service, together with her husband they purchased her family's dairy farm and operated it until her husband's passing in 1997.  At that time her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Patti Widrick took over the farm and today the farm is owned and operated by Randy and Patti's son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Jessica Widrick.  Lila was a member of the Croghan Mennonite Church.  She volunteered for the American Red Cross Bloodmobiles at the Croghan American Legion for many years, and was a longtime volunteer at the Lewis County General Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop.  She enjoyed going to Alex Bay on the St. Lawrence River every summer for a couple of days when her family was young.

Lila enjoyed gardening, taking rides with her sons and stopping for ice cream.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and making their birthdays special, those were very special times.  Lila babysat and helped raise several grandchildren and a great grandson.  She was thankful to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Bruce Tabolt, since her husband's passing.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Croghan Mennonite Church with Bruce Roggie, Pastor, officiating.  Calling hours are from Noon -2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.
