Joan M. Rueger

ROME/LOWVILLE - Joan M. Rueger, 69, of Lawrence Street, Rome and formerly of Stowe Street, Lowville passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, NY. 

Joan is survived by her brothers and sisters, her twin sister, Jane and Paul Swett of Rome, Barb Brown of North Carolina, Patrick and Angela Rueger of Florida, William and Cindy Rueger of Holland Patent, Margaret and John Goddeau of Ballston Spa, Kathleen and Clifford Delahunty of Levittown, PA, Robert Rueger of Utica, Joseph Rueger of Rome; several nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved to play with.  She is predeceased by several special family members.

Joan was born on December 6, 1954, in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor Wilcox Rueger.  She loved attending Day Hab and doing arts and crafts. Joan worked on the Janitorial Staff at Lewis County Industries for many years.  Joan enjoyed supporting her community by participating in the Heart Walk, Relay for Life and Special Olympics.  She especially loved dancing and spending time with her friends and staff who supported her throughout her life.

Calling hours will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. in Lowville from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a funeral service following at 3:00pm.  Spring burial will be in Oriskany Cemetery, Oriskany, NY.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Arc of Oneida - Lewis, 245 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13501.
