GLENFIELD – David Lee Cobb, 70, of Nortonville Road, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 28, 2024.
David was born on January 4, 1954 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Glen and Elizabeth Hanno Cobb. He graduated from South Lewis Central School. David worked for the Queens Cheese Plant in Copenhagen before going to work at the Lewis County Court House, where he worked in Maintenance for 30 years until his retirement.
David was a member of the Northern Cruisers car club, the Glen – Greig Fish and Game Club, and a member of Flywheels and Pulleys. He enjoyed attending the St. Lawrence Power and Equipment Museum old tractor show in Madrid, NY, the Boonville Woodsmen’s Field Days and Antique Automobile Club of America car shows in Hershey, PA. David loved to drive his antique cars in local parades. He enjoyed his Model Ts and Winchester rifles. Most of all, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three aunts and an uncle, Elvira “Teenie” Cobb Jones of Lowville; Louise Hanno Lyndaker and Genie Lyndaker of Croghan; Catherine Hanno Csizmar of Boonville; close friends, Bob Shultz, Al LaChausse, Arel Brown, Frank Archer and others; close cousins, Lee and Sundena Cobb, Charles and Bonnie Cobb; and the extended Cobb and Hanno families. He is predeceased by his parents.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. The funeral service will follow the calling hour at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Beaches Bridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to Lewis County Search & Rescue, 7782 W. State St., Lowville, NY 13367.
