Cathy A. (DeVaul) Villeneuve

LOWVILLE- Cathy A. Villeneuve, 70, of State Route 12, Lowville, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 under the care of nurses at Lewis County General, while on comfort care.

Calling hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, followed by a closing prayer.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lewis County Search & Rescue, P.O. Box 247, Lowville, NY 13367.

She is survived by two children, Heather (Robert); Brian (Kate); two-step children, Karen, and Scott (Candy); grandchildren, Kyliegh, Kaleb, Cordell, Connor, Landen, Allison, Aliza, Alexis, Jase, Zachary, Emmalee, and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; her siblings, Gary DeVaul; Glen (Mary) DeVaul, and Diane (Dale) Burgess; a special niece, Carin Hotaling (Rob); several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald C. Villeneuve; her daughter, Catherine G. Snyder; a step-daughter, Ginger Villeneuve; a sister-n-law, Mary DeVaul; and a special aunt, Gertrude DeKing.

Mrs. Villeneuve was born on December 22, 1952 in Sodus, NY, a daughter of the late Alfred Glen and Catherine Cora DeKing DeVaul.  She graduated from Lowville Academy in 1971, and while in school she attended Glenfield BOCES for nursing.  Cathy worked as an LPN for Mercy Hospital, where she met her future husband Donald C. Villeneuve.  They wed on November 18, 1974 in Hounsfield, NY.  She raised her family and later worked as an LPN for Lewis County General Hospital for many years.  Mr. Villeneuve passed away on February 2, 2009.

Cathy was a true caregiver, caring for the entire family and many others.  She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and baking.  Cathy loved family gatherings, most of all she cherished her time spent with her family.
