WEST CARTHAGE – Victor E. LeRoux, 86, of Hubbard Street, died Sunday evening, November 26, 2017 at Carthage Area Hospital.

Calling hours are 2 – 5 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville.  Burial will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown.  Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

He is survived by his wife June, of over 62 years.  Three sons and their wives, Wayne and Darlene of Carthage, Terry and Lyn of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Randy and Shelly of Oswego; three daughters and their husbands, Rebecca and Paul Chartrand of Bonita Springs, Florida, Vicki and Chuck Batsford of Black River, Lori LeRoux and Ted Sutton of Watertown; four sisters, Shirley Woloven of Fulton, Patricia McCreery of LaFargeville, Donna Staie of Carthage, Judy Zembiec of Yuba City, California; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren, step great-grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by a great-grandson, Brayden Sears; two brothers-in-law, John Waloven and Joe Staie.

Victor was born on July 21, 1931 in Fulton, NY, a son of the late Victor and Dorothy Beadle LeRoux, and attended Augustinian Academy.  He worked on area farms, Bezanilla Dairy and Crown Zellerbach before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving from August 31, 1951 – November 21, 1952, serving aboard the USS Block Island.   After his return home from service, he returned to work at Crown Zellerbach, later named James River Corp.   On August 13, 1955, he married June P. David at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Natural Bridge with Rev. Laurence Mallette, officiating.  He  retired from James River Corp. on February 1, 1994, after 43 ½ years.  He was a member of the Carthage American Legion Post# 789 and was a member of the West Carthage Fire Department, serving as past Chief and was a member of the fire department Benevolent Association, also West Carthage Hornets Drill Team.  Vic enjoyed hunting and fishing, baseball, football and traveling, as well as spending time with his family.
