LYONS FALLS- Phillip J. Baxter, 60, of Seymour Ave. passed away at his home on Saturday morning, March 30, 2019 under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be held privately by the family in Penny Settlement Cemetery, Lyonsdale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, PO Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367; or to Lyons Falls Ambulance, PO Box 520, Lyons Falls, NY 13368. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
Phillip is survived by his mother, Laurine Baxter of Lyons Falls; four siblings, Patricia Cole of North Clarendon, VT, Henry Baxter Jr. (Laurie) of Lyons Falls, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Mooney of Port Leyden, Paul (Melissa) Baxter of Port Leyden; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and several cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Henry H. Baxter; and a brother Steven Baxter.
Phillip was born on September 6, 1958 in Munich, Germany, a son of the late Henry H. Baxter and Laurine Clair Baxter and graduated from South Lewis Central School in 1976. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1976-1980 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and New London, CT. After his service, he worked for various construction companies over the years. Most recently, he worked for Lunco of Carthage and North South Connection of Boonville. He enjoyed crossword puzzles books, and collecting small pencil sharpeners. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
