Marie H. Buell

LOWVILLE- Marie H. Buell, 87  , formerly of Evergreen Lane, Lowville, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, where she has resided since October 20, 2015.

A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville with Rev. Donald Manfred, Pastor of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, officiating.  A gathering at the Lowville VFW, 7752 West State Street, Lowville, will immediately follow the funeral Mass.  Spring burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Croghan.   Calling hours are Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 1-4 and 6-8 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  Contributions may be made to Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 Auxiliary, 7752 West State Street, Lowville, NY 13367 or Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P. Surviving are a daughter, Susan M. Jackson of Lowville; a grandson John Jackson Jr. of Carthage; and a granddaughter and her husband, Tina and Chris Harrold of New Bremen; and four great-grandchildren, John Jackson III, Alexia, Nickolas and Brianna; three step-grandchildren, Tammie and her husband Reggie Hulbert, Mike and his wife Darlene Jackson, and Debbie Watson; and many step great-grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a very special nephew, Danny Ortlieb, who was like a son to Marie and Brice; and a very special niece, Nancy Duncan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her husband, Brice E. Buell, who died on December 10, 2009; a son Robert J. Buell who died on March 8, 1973, a daughter, Dorothy Everson who died on June 6, 2009, two sons-in-law, John Jackson and Craig Finehout,; and two sisters, Joan Ortlieb and Dolores Dean.

Marie was born on August 29, 1930 in Croghan, NY, a daughter of the late Guy and Myrtle Myers Zehr and attended Father Leo Memorial School.  On September 25, 1948, she married Brice E. Buell at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan.  She has been a bartender/waitress for Baker’s Grill, Lowville for many years.  She was a life member of Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 Auxiliary, Lowville and the Lowville American Legion #162 Auxiliary.
