CALCIUM- Kathryn A. Powis Cheney, 71, NYS Route 11, passed away, Monday morning, January 21, 2019 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
A memorial service will be held on 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Pastor Mike Bartholomew, officiating. Calling hours are from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in West Lowville Rural Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.
Kathryn is survived by two sons, Christopher Cheney of Fairport and Jason Cheney of Syracuse; five brothers, Benjamin (Bernie) Powis of Akron, Kenneth (Denise) Powis of Copenhagen, Robert Powis of Lowville, William Powis of Boonville, Norman (Heather) Powis of Pulaski; several nieces, nephews and special cousins, Charles (Chloe) Davis, Janet Wisner, & Gina Brownell. She is predeceased by a brother, Richard Powis who died at age 2; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Powis.
Kathryn was born on July 25, 1947 in Lowville, a daughter of the late Kenneth Powis Sr. and Edith Richter Powis. She graduated from Lowville Academy in 1965. She enjoyed crocheting.
