LOWVILLE – Allan L. Raymond, 84, passed away Monday afternoon, May 14, 2018 at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, at Sand Pond.
A funeral mass will be said at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville, with Rev. Jay Seymour, Pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Burl will follow in Lowville Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Helen Raymond of Glenfield; a sister-in-law, June Raymond of NC; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Raymond; and a sister, Jean Raymond; and a sister-in-law, Joan Raymond.
Allan was born September 25, 1933 in Lowville, a son of the late Leo F. and Corrine I. Prue Raymond. He graduated from Lowville Academy and Watertown School of Commerce. He worked for Gerald Nortz car dealership in Lowville for 7 years before going to work for Lewis County General Hospital for many years. He worked as Nursing Home Administrator for Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, a position he held for many years, until his retirement. He was also a caretaker for his sister and mother, Jean and Corrine Raymond.
He was Scout Master of Troop 62 for over 50 years, earning the Silver Beaver Award (the highest award given to adult leaders). He enjoyed scouting, taking the boys camping, and to scouting jamborees, and other scouting events.
