Deborah Ann (Lane) Platt

CARTHAGE-Deborah Ann Platt, 65, of Tamarack Street, Carthage, formerly of Port Leyden, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 4, 2024 under the loving care of her family and Jefferson County Hospice.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Kenneth B. Platt; a son Joshua Platt of Carthage; a brother, John Costa of Rochester; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Perkins White of Gig Harbor, Washington; Jean (Alan) Page of Webster; many nieces, nephews and some close cousins, Susan and Grayson Shoun of Raleigh, NC; and her Platt family who meant so much to her. 

Deborah was born on July 9, 1958 in Rochester, NY, a daughter of the late Harold Clifford and Marion Elizabeth O’Brien Lane.  She graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1977.  After high school, she moved to Florida and worked for Cowskills Corp. making printed circuit boards.  Debbie later worked for Burlington Corp. and Taylor Instruments both in Rochester, NY.  On June 6, 1987, she married Kenneth G. Platt at Charlotte Beach in Rochester, NY.  Soon thereafter the couple moved to Port Leyden, NY, where Deborah stayed home to raise their son and later worked as a caregiver at CNY DDSO in Lowville and Rome, NY. 

Deborah was of Catholic faith.  She enjoyed camping at Stysh’s Brown Barn Campgrounds, Boonville, playing cards, putting puzzles together, and playing board games. 

Deborah wants everyone to know that she had a very good life and loved her family.  She also adored her nieces and nephews, and her best friends meant so much to her.
