David L. McLane

LOWVILLE – David L. McLane, 76, of Cascade Ave., passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at Lewis County Health System Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired Methodist minister, officiating.  Calling hours are from 12 noon - 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Old Glendale Cemetery.  A luncheon at the Lowville VFW will immediately follow the burial, all are welcome.  Contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6912, 7744 W. He is survived by a sister, Sharon Burdick, and her fiancé, Joe Brown of Lyons Falls; four nieces, Kim and Steve; Kelly and Jamey; Kris and Steve; and Kathy; great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; and by a brother-in-law, Gary “Skip” Burdick.

David was born on November 16, 1947 in Utica, NY, a son of the late Milfred R. “Mac” and Helen L. Burr McLane.  He graduated from Lowville Academy in 1966 and went to work for AMF in Lowville.  David was drafted during the Vietnam War, where he was wounded while serving his country from 1967 – 1968, receiving a Purple Heart.  After his service he returned to work for AMF for a time before going to work for Payne Jones in Lowville, retiring after 35 years of service.

He was a member of Lowville American Legion Post #162 and a lifetime member of Lewis County memorial Post #6912, Lowville VFW.  He enjoyed hunting and four-wheeling.
