Raymond C. Pleskach

PORT LEYDEN – Raymond C. Pleskach, 65, of Popple Lane, Port Leyden, passed away Thursday morning, December 22, 2016, in the comfort of his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Pastor Steve Bolin officiating.  There will be a calling hour from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.  Burial will be held in the spring at Martinsburg Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flywheels and Pulleys, State Route 26, Constableville, NY 13325 or New Covenant Church of Port Leyden, Moose River Road, Port Leyden, NY 13343.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; two brothers, Harold Pleskach of Lowville; Doug and his wife Shirley Pleskach of Lowville; a sister, Rosemary and her husband Ernie Rook of West Martinsburg; a stepson, Dominic Russell of Lowville;  several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is predeceased by a brother, Joseph Pleskach.

Raymond was born on March 2, 1951 in Martinsburg, New York, a son of the late John and Mable Emerson Pleskach.  He attended country school in Martinsburg, as well as Lowville Academy and Beaver River Central School.  On May 15, 1999, he married Kathleen Schack at Grace Covenant Church, Lowville, with Rev. Abe Clemons officiating.  He worked on many area farms in Lewis County, and also worked as a cleaner for the Lewis County Highway Department. 

Mr. Pleskach was an active member of the New Covenant Church, Port Leyden.  He was also a member of the Lowville American Legion Post #162, as well as Flywheels and Pulleys of Constableville.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, dancing, playing cards and going to the Flywheels and Pulleys.
