Patricia D. Hickox

LOWVILLE – Patricia D. Hickox, 84, formerly of Rohr Road, Carthage, died Friday morning, April 1, 2016, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, with her family at her side.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc, Lowville, with Rev. Mr. Ronald Pominville, Deacon of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, West Carthage.  Calling hours will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the funeral home. 

She is survived by her children, Linda E. and Ralph L. Bush of Lowville; Norman Jr. and Carolyn Hickox of Martville, NY; Kenneth A. Hickox of Carthage; Carol Hammond of Carthage; Bobby Hickox of Carthage; Tressie Hickox of Carthage; two brothers, Gilbert and Rosemary Dicob of Glendale, Arizona; Robert Dicob of Vero Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her husband, Norman Hickox, Sr., who died November 1, 1993; a daughter, Tina M. Ebersol, who died shortly after birth; three brothers, Donald Dicob, Paul Dicob, and Richard Dicob; and by a sister, Elizabeth Kempney. 

Patricia was born on June 16, 1931, at home in Croghan, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Cecelia Carrier Dicob.  Her mother died when she was two years old, and she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Augustus Tabolt of Croghan.  She attended Father Leo Memorial School, Croghan.  A marriage to Frederick Ebersol ended in divorce.  On September 2, 1971, she married Norman W. Hickox, Sr. Mrs. Hickox worked in retail, and cared for many children.  She was also a kindergarten transporter for Beaver River Central School.

Patricia enjoyed bingo and playing cards.  She was in her glory when she was surrounded by her family and friends.
