LOWVILLE – Marian E. Potocki, 94, formerly of State Route 12, Lowville, died peacefully on November 28, 2016 at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville where she had resided for the past three years.
Marian was born on February 18, 1922 in Martinsburg, NY, a daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred Millard. She was a proud graduate of Lowville Academy in 1941. On November 14, 1964, she married the love of her life, Leo Potocki. During their retirement, they especially enjoyed traveling and taking bus trips with friends. Mr. Potocki died on November 12, 1999.
Marian was employed as a bookkeeper for Lowville Farmers Cooperative for 41 ½ years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, shopping and spending time with her loving family. She was a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Lowville.
She is survived by her sister, Winifred Regetz of Boonville, three sisters-in-law, Eva Millard of Lowville, Shirley Potocki, Helen Rathkowski and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Foster and Gilbert Millard of Lowville, two sisters-in-law, Frieda Millard of Lowville, Sophie Potocki, and 3 brothers-in-law, Gerald Regetz of Boonville, John Potocki Jr. and Benjamin Potocki.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Bethel Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Keith Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 11-12 p.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Rd., Lowville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Marian’s family will especially miss her wit, sincere smile, generosity, and loving way. The family would especially like to thank the C-Wing staff at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville for the special care and attention they provided to Marian over the years, as well as her church family at Bethel Church of the Nazarene for their many acts of kindness and always taking the time to check on her.
