Obituary

PORT LEYDEN- Wayne Thomas Lohmeyer, 63, of Main Street, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, July 9, 2023 in the Emergency Room at Lewis County Health System.

He is survived by his two children; Ryan Lohmeyer of Fort Plain, and Heather Warner of Northville; his father, William H. Lohmeyer of Grand haven, MI; a brother, Kenneth Lohmeyer of Newburgh; a sister, Lisa Bell of Amsterdam; aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by his mother, Clara Lohmeyer, who passed away on December 26, 2010.

Wayne was born on August 31, 1959 in Amsterdam, NY, a son of William H. Lohmeyer and the late Clara Francisco Lohmeyer and graduated from Amsterdam High School in the Class of 1979.  Shortly after graduation, Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Army serving four years.  After his service, he was employed by Montgomery County Department of Public Works for many years.

He was a disabled veteran who will never be forgotten.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, NY, at the convenience of the family.
