Susan (Demo) Salmon

GLENFIELD- Susan Demo Salmon, 66, of McConnell Road in Glenfield, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at her home.

A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Donald Manfred officiating.  A meal at the Lowville American Legion will immediately follow the funeral service, all are welcome.  A calling hour will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.  Burial will be held privately by the family.

She is survived by two daughters, Danielle (Gary) Rudisell of Vale, NC, Charlotte Dunn of Lincolnton, NC; two stepdaughters, Tanya Roy and her companion Jim Goodenbery of Adams, Casie (Ryan) Kolenda of Lowville; grandchildren, Kindrie, Devin, Emma, Kally, Thomas, Samantha, and Mara; four siblings, Diane Demo of Harrisville, Gary Demo of Beaver Falls, Joe Demo of Castorland, and Linda (Dan) Nuffer of Croghan. Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stuart in 2018 and one brother, Randy in 1986.

Susan was born on January 12, 1958 in Lowville, a daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Fey Demo. She graduated from Beaver River Central School with the class of 1976.  Following graduation, she enlisted into the United States Navy and served four years until her honorable discharge in 1980.  She married Richard Thomas and was blessed with two beautiful daughters. Susan was a homemaker before working in the kitchen at South Lewis Central School and more recently at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville, where she retired from in 2018. On July 10, 2010, she married Stuart Salmon at Greig Military Park with Town Justice Owen Williams, officiating.

She was a former member of the Lowville American Legion Post #162.  She enjoyed puzzles, books, soap operas, reality tv, lunches with family and friends, gambling, camping, and family get togethers.

Susan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Patty Plemons, whose friendship and care allowed Sue to remain in her home.
