CROGHAN- Sherwood Norris “Butch” MacCue, 74, of Brewery Road, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.
Butch is survived by two children, Scott (Wendy) MacCue of Croghan and Craig (Jamey) MacCue of Pulaski; five grandchildren, Corey, Alison, Meghan, Hailey and Brianne; three great- grandchildren and one on the way; a sister-in-law, Sharon Chartrand; a nephew, Dennis Chartrand; and a niece, Tanya Dubey. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Cindy; and a son, Brian MacCue; his parents, James and Marion Fayette MacCue; a brother, Paul; a sister, LaVain.
Butch was born on August 14, 1951 in Gouverneur, NY, a son of the late James N. and Marion Fayette MacCue. On July 26, 1969, he married Cynthia Jean Fuller at Fine Town Hall in Fine, NY. He started working as a Machine operator for Climax Manufacturing Corporation in Castorland in 1970, later moving to the Lowville location after the Castorland location closed. Butch retired from Climax in 2008 after 38 years of service. Cynthia passed away on April 21, 2014. Butch was of the Methodist faith.
In his retired years Butch enjoyed traveling with his wife, Cindy. He also dabbled in woodworking crafts. Butch loved watching his TV westerns. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday August 8, 2026 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman and Pastor Beth Monnat officiating. Burial will follow in Swinburne Cemetery, Deer River. Calling hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday August 8, 2026 prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.
