PORT LEYDEN - Ronald P. “Ron” May, 67, of Kelpytown Road, left this earth to spend eternity in heaven with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 44 years, Judy; his children, David and Amanda May, and their three children, Katie, Elliot, and Ian of Charlotte, NC; Michael May and his two chidren, Connor and Tannor of Adams, NY; Mallery and John Galligan, and their two children, John and Sophia of Glen Spey, NY; a brother and his wife, Gary and Kay May of Canajoharie, NY; a sister and her husband, Dora and Ron Whiteman of Fort Plain, NY; an uncle, Roger Lottman of Canajoharie, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born on August 19, 1956 in Little Falls, NY, a son of the late Paul and Margot May. He graduated from Canajoharie High School in 1975 and worked for Beachnut and then Eastern AI as a Breeder Technician for many years. On September 13, 1980, he married Judy L. Ehlers at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield, NY. Together with his wife, he owned and operated a dairy farm on Route 12, Lyons Falls, for more than a decade. Ron worked for Owl Wire in Boonville, NY until his retirement when he then manged family rental properties and laundromat. First and foremost, he loved the Lord, reading, and studying the Bible. Ron enjoyed dairy farming and loved all things agriculture, especially gardening and helping his wife can the vegetables he grew. He loved and cherished spending time with his family.
In keeping with Ron’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s name can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
