CASTORLAND- Roger F. Turck, 74, formerly of Castorland, passed away Sunday evening, May 25, 2025, at Lewis County Residential Health Facility where he had resided since May of 2022.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Riverside Cemetery Annex, Beaver Falls. There are no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc.
He is survived by two sons, Preston Turck of Lowville, and Jason A. Turck and his companion, Tonya Pate of Castorland; the mother of his children, Caroline Turck; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ginny Jones of Florida, and Kathy and Alan Juby of South Carolina; an aunt, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one daughter, Bernadette P. Turck in August, 2019; a son, Michael Roger Turck, who passed away at birth in 1977; and a brother-in-law, Larry Jones.
Roger was born on April 17, 1951 in Lowville, the son of the late Richard F. and Emma Sweeney Turck. He graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1970 and worked for Dick Rennie Sales & Service, Denmark. In August, 1975, he married Caroline Bouchard at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield. Roger took over his father’s garbage route in the Beaver Falls area. Later, together with his wife, the couple owned Texaco Gas Station in Castorland. Many years later, the marriage ended in divorce. Roger also worked in the woods as a lumberjack, and for Hoch Brothers. Roger retired in 2016 from the Town of Croghan Highway Department.
Roger enjoyed mechanic work, working outdoors and taking walks. Years ago, he loved his muscle cars and hunting.
