LOWVILLE– Robert R. “Bob” Wright, 66, of East State Street, passed away Saturday August 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristy (Tom) McGrath of Lowville, Kimberly Wright and her companion Andrew Ward of Lowville; two grandsons, Kolton and Bradyn; two sisters, Bonnie (Warren) Shaw of Croghan and Debra (Kenny) Lyndaker of Watson; three brothers, Ronald (Krista) Wright of Glenfield, William Wright of Glenfield, and Timothy (Angie) Wright of Castorland;; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane in 2021; a son, Gregory Michael Wright; and two brothers, Lyle “Jr” Wright Jr and Harold “Rocky” Wright.
Bob was born on June 18, 1958 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Lyle and Shirley Bassett Wright. He graduated from Lowville Academy Central School in 1977 and worked for area farms and at Billhardt’s Jamesway for many years. On March 7, 1980, he married Diane Spann at her Aunt Rose’s home in Glenfield with Aunt Rose Spann officiating. Together they later took over Diane’s parents farm in 1995, operating until 2015 when he retired from farming. Shortly thereafter, Bob went to work at the Lowville Farmers Co-Op Building Supply and worked up until his passing. Diane passed away on October 11, 2021.
Bob was active with the Lowville Food Pantry and enjoyed helping people wherever he could. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheelers and above all, spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024 at 4 P.M. at Iseneker Funeral Home, 5702 Waters Road, Lowville. There are no calling hours. A gathering at New Bremen Fire Department will immediately follow the funeral service. For any food donations, please contact Cathy Martin at (315) 771-0485 or Elizabeth McCormick at 315 376-6422. Burial will be held privately in Martinsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lowville Food Pantry, 5502 Trinity Ave., Lowville, NY 13367.
