Robert Toth Obituary

PORT LEYDEN - Robert J. “Bob” Toth, 85, of Marmon Road, passed away on Saturday June 20, 2026 at the Lewis County General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia; his children, Renee and Bruce Bush of Lyons Falls; Robin and John Disbro of Lowville; Regina and David Brown of Port Leyden; Robert and

Jodi Steria of Camden; a daughter-in-law, Paula Steria of Brewerton; and Robert Toth, Jr.; his siblings, Joan Goodfellow of Lyonsdale; LeRoy and Janet Toth of Port Leyden; Nancy Young and her companion, John Wetmore of Lyonsdale; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Ricky M. Steria, and by a great grandson, Rhoen Black.

Bob was born at home in Lyonsdale on September 25, 1940, a son of the late Albert John and Loretta Annabell Russell Toth. He graduated from Port Leyden High School in 1958. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country from 1958 until 1961. After his service he worked at a factory building aircraft on Long Island. Then he returned to Lewis County and entered the New York State Police Academy, retiring after 26 years from Troop D in Lowville, NY.

On April 12, 1980, he married Patricia (Adams) Steria in Lyons Falls. Together they enjoyed wintering in Florida, traveling to Hawaii and twice to Alaska. The couple traveled throughout the United States in their motorhome. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was a

long-time member of the Kafalka Hunting Club in McKeever. He was a fixer of many things and enjoyed building his family home. Together with his father and brother they owned and operated their family sawmill. Bob had a true passion for water skiing and wake boarding at their camp on Effley Falls. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

To the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Lewis County General Hospital, our family wants to express our deepest gratitude for the outstanding care you provided to Bob.

Your professionalism, kindness, and dedication made a challenging time much easier for all of us. Thank you for everything you do every day.
