LOWVILLE-Reginald J. Hulbert Sr., 84, of Waters Road, passed away at his home on Monday morning, May 9, 2022 under the loving care of his family.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Pastor Wayne Arnold officiating. Calling hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.
Reginald is survived by his beloved wife, Helen of nearly 63 years; four children and their spouses, Reginald Jr. and Tammie Hulbert of Lowville; Kristine and Patrick Lyng of Greig; Diane and Joseph Vincent of Rome; and Richard and Karen Hulbert of Greig; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his siblings; Gerald “Jerry” and Beverly Hulbert of Lowville; Carol LaFlair of Lowville; Thomas and Carol Hulbert of Palmyra; Patricia Tabolt of Lowville; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wharton of Alabama; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a his siblings and their spouses, Naomi and Robert LaFlair, Charles and Dorothy Hulbert, Robert and Madeline Hulbert, Sally and Maynard Hirschey, Garvis and Emily Hulbert, Shirley and Francis Dier, Ronald and Patricia Hulbert; and two brothers-in-law, Vernon LaFlair and Larry Tabolt.
Reginald was born on July 29, 1937 in Dadville, NY, a son of the late Spencer W. and Gladys Dickinson Hulbert and atteneded Lowville Academy. He worked on area farms, and then for Stanley’s Meat Market, Dadville Tree Nursery, Tiger Lee Construction. On November 28, 1959 he married Helen F. Hoffman at St. John’s Catholic Church, Lyons Falls. Reg last worked for AMF, Lowville until 1987.
Reginald was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Lowville. He was president of the hubs club. Reg enjoyed working on houses, doing engine and body work on cars, and doing yard work, especially mowing lawns. He loved bluegrass and country music. Most of all, Reg enjoyed spending time with his family.
