LOWVILLE/CONSTABLEVILLE- Rebecca Sue “Becky” Ackerman, 64, of Eugene Street, formerly of Constableville, passed away Wednesday December 18, 2024 at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse after lifelong complications with juvenile diabetes.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 23, 2024 at Abundant Life Fellowship, Boonville with Pastor Dan Tabolt officiating. Calling hours are from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday December 22, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. Spring burial will be in Turin Cemetery. Becky is survived by her companion, Eddy Coffey; her siblings, Leslie (Donald) Arthur of Lowville; Katherine, Aaron, and John Ackerman of Constableville; Patrick Ackerman of Turin; Matthew Ackerman of Constableville; Nathan Ackerman of Goochland, VA; a brother-in-law, Tom Blackford of Morrisville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, and a sister, Valerie Blackford.
She was born in Constableville, NY on July 7, 1960, a daughter of the late, Fay L. Ackerman Jr. and Marlene Peterson Ackerman. She graduated from South Lewis Central School and Central City Business Institute, Syracuse, NY with a degree in accounting. Becky worked for several years at Lewis County Head Start and then spent most of her working career at Lewis County Social Services in the accounting department, where she retired in 2022.
She was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship in Boonville, where she helped with children’s church when her health was good. Becky loved watching football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets. She also loved watching baseball, especially the New York Mets. Becky loved family gatherings and long conversations with family members and friends on the phone and in person, as much as she could. When she couldn’t attend church anymore, Becky enjoyed watching it on tv or on her phone. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and joke with her family, friends, and co-workers. Becky will be forever missed.
