LOWVILLE-It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond G. Green, age 76, formerly of Cascade Ave., on February 17, 2025.
Ray was born on November 9, 1948 and was Vice President of his class of 1966 at Lowville Academy and attended Syracuse University. Ray also served in the U.S. Army reserves for 8 years. He had a lifelong love of reading. He was an informed individual, and was known for his lively discussions on a wide range of topics.
Professionally, Ray built a successful career in the industrial construction industry, where he became known for his exceptional problem-solving skills. As a natural leader, he guided many teams through complex projects, always with a focus on precision and collaboration.
Outside of his professional life, Ray was committed to his community where he was a volunteer firefighter in Lowville, NY and served on the Urban Planning Board in Peachtree City GA.
Ray was also an avid woodworker, finding joy and satisfaction in customizing his homes in both Florida and Brantingham. He was recognized by family and friends as the handyman consultant.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Steinaker), daughter Amy (Jason) Bender, son Kristopher (Jennifer) and grandchildren Conner and Colson Bender. He is also survived by sisters Phyllis Hayes, Pinellas Park FL and Barbara Sheridan, Brandon FL.
A graveside service will be held later this summer in Brantingham Cemetery. Donations may be made in his honor to the NNY Community Foundation, 131 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
