Maxine Ann Kohler

GLENFIELD/CARTHAGE- Maxine Ann Kohler, 94, formerly of North Shore Road, Glenfield, and Meadowbrook Terrace, Carthage passed away Sunday morning, July 26, 2026 at Elderwood at Grand Island in Grand Island, NY.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Christian (Tara) Withey of Tonawanda NY; and Sovereign Lyman of Kenmore NY; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Leslie Johnston of Nantucket, MA and Peggy Farrell of Buffalo; and several extended family members.

She is predeceased by her son, Robert James Hipwell; a brother, The artist Von Kohler; her parents, Max and Ann Kohler; and her loving husband of 20 years, Bruce Johnston, who passed in 2018.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 4, 2026 at Beaches Bridge Cemetery, Watson.  Contributions may be made in memory of Maxine to Lowville Food Pantry, 5502 Trinity Ave., Lowville, NY 13367.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
