LOWVILLE – Louise M. Albertson, 89, passed away on Sunday evening, December 31, 2023 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.

 A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 6, 2024 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Douglas Decker officiating.  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Croghan, in the spring.  There are no calling hours.  A luncheon at Lowville VFW, 7744 West State Street, Lowville, NY 13367 will immediately follow the funeral Mass, all are welcome.  Any food donations may be brought to the VFW on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Contributions in her memory may be made to the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, Attn:  Activities, 7785 N. State St., Lowville, NY  13367; or St. Peter’s Church, 5457 Shady Ave., Lowville, NY 13367.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeri and Kevin Lyndaker of Brantingham; and Jill and Stephen Allen of Lowville; a son-in-law, Patrick Mahoney of Ilion; a sister, Janice Anderson of Boonville; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Monnat of Croghan and Norma Monnat of Lowville; Six grandchildren, Jason (Rolanda) Mahoney, Sarah (Jason) Stevens, Molly (Jacob) Keck, Megan (Joseph) Wood, Joshua Lyndaker, Kayla (Jacob) Emge; and four great-grandchildren, Ella and Adalyn Wood, Audree and Ryan Lyndaker; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband, Stuart; two daughters, Renee Albertson and Lyn Mahoney; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert, Stanley, and Niles and Audrey Monnat; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Boliver; and a brother-in-law, Frederick Anderson.

Louise was born on June 15, 1934 in Croghan, NY, a daughter of the late C. Harrison and Maude R. Hanno Monnat.  She graduated from Father Leo Memorial School in Croghan in 1951.  Louise worked for General Telephone in Lowville from 1952 – 1954.  On October 24, 1953 she married Stuart L. Albertson at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Croghan, with Rev. Fintan Murphy officiating.    Louise raised her family and worked for Ames department store from 1972 until 2002, retiring when the store closed.  Mr. Albertson died on November 24, 2003.  She worked at the Lowville Free Library, while making great friendships.

Louise was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lowville.  She was a member of Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 VFW Auxiliary, and a member of the Lewis County Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered at the gift shop.

Louise’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the first floor staff at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility for their compassion and kindness shown to our mom during her stay there.
