Kevin Muncy Obituary

COPENHAGEN – Kevin A. Muncy, 68, passed away early Sunday morning, August 18, 2024 at Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse.

The funeral will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, officiating.  A Celebration of Life gathering at Lewis County Marine Corps League Farney Hall will immediately follow the funeral service, all are welcome.  Any food donations may be taken directly to the Marine Corps League on Thursday beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Calling hours are Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.  Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. He is survived by his six children, their spouses, and his grandchildren, Jeremy Muncy of Copenhagen; Joshua (Tamie) Muncy, and their children, Eli and Ian, of Copenhagen; Justin Muncy of Copenhagen; Rachel (Nicholas) Garito of Lowville; Brianna Muncy (Yasiel) and their daughter, Elizabeth, of Richmond, VA; Skylar Muncy of Copenhagen; two sisters, Vanessa (Doug) Rook of Lowville; Vonnie (Joseph) Brouty of Croghan; two brothers, Karl (Maggi) Muncy of Watson; Kent (Marcia) Muncy of Watson; an uncle Robert Muncy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by his parents; a brother, Keith Muncy; a sister, Valerie Muncy; and a niece, Julie Marie Brouty.

Kevin was born on February 6, 1956 in Lowville, New York, a son of the late Arnold F. and Rita Aucter Muncy.  He graduated from Lowville Academy in 1974.  Kevin worked for Rennie’s Sales and Service in Denmark before working for the Village of Copenhagen, retiring as Superintendent after 30 years of service.

Kevin was a member of B.P.O.E #1605, Lowville Elks Lodge, and a member of Marine Corps League Det. 754, Lowville.  He enjoyed playing Euchre, hunting, fishing and boating.  Kevin also enjoyed time spent gardening, foraging, cooking, and sugaring.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
