Kathryn A. Leroux

LOWVILLE- Kathryn (Kathy) Ann Leroux, 75, formerly of Lowville, NY, died with her youngest daughter by her side at Rochester General hospital on Friday June 21, 2024 following a brief illness.

Born on March 29, 1949, in Lowville, NY, Kathy attended Copenhagen Central School before continuing her education at Mater Dei and SUNY Potsdam, where she earned her teaching degree.  After teaching for one year in the Beaver Falls School District, she married her husband of over fifty years on June 23,1973, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lowville, NY.  Kathy devoted her life to raising their three children.  She loved playing cards, especially euchre, enjoyed a good laugh, and cherished being surrounded by her family.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Paul Thomas (Tom), and their three children: Margaret (Peg) O’Connor and her husband John of Merrill, NY; Michelle Burke and her husband Eric of Canton, NY; and Matthew and his wife Krista of Glens Falls, NY. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Riley, Caeleigh, Aoife, Ethan, Murphy, Alexander, Dylan, and Zoe. Additionally, Kathy is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Doyle of Burnt Hills and Betty Marriott of Gansevoort, as well as three nieces, two nephews, and several cousins.  Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Walter Marriott; her brother, Frances (Pete) Marriott; and his wife, Trudy.

As per Kathy’s request, there will be no calling hours.  A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place Saturday June 29, 2024 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lowville, NY at 1:00 PM.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
