GLENFIELD – Karl Joseph Hunziker, 65, of Blue St., passed away of lung cancer on Friday morning, August 23, 2024, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
He is survived by his parents, Donald and Charlotte Hunziker of Glenfield; a sister, Kathy Der of Lowville, and her three children, Alysia (Adam) Janzen and their children, Emma and Alex; Jessalyn (Chris) Dickinson and their children Olivia and Calvin, and Shannon Der and Jake Morrow and their children, Ava and Hannah; a sister, Elaine Jackson of Manlius, and her daughter, Amanda Jackson.
Karl was born on August 21, 1959 in Lowville, NY, a son of Donald F. and Charlotte A. Ebersol Hunziker. He graduated from South Lewis Central School and attended Jefferson Community College in Watertown. Karl worked as a photographer for Olan Mills, travelling throughout the Eastern United States for several years.
Karl was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship, Boonville. He enjoyed old cars, photography, and motorcycles. Karl played the guitar, and was an avid reader, enjoying classic literature.
Calling hours will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan Tabolt officiating. Burial will follow in Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Croghan. A luncheon at 3G Fire Department will immediately follow the graveside service, all are welcome. Any food donations may be taken directly to 3G Fire Department on Thursday morning after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, PO Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367.
