June Allen Obituary

LOWVILLE- June M. Allen, 90, formerly of Bostwick Street, passed away on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility where she had resided since 2019.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 with Rev. Bruce Chapman officiating, at Iseneker Funeral Home, 5702 Waters Road, Lowville.  A calling hour will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in June’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116 or to the Parkinsons Foundation, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlane Crouse and her companion, Thurman Parker of Memphis, TN, Brenda and Larry Young of Watertown, and Kathy and Chris Loughman of East Longmeadow, MA; a son, Craig and Eileen Allen of Cortland, NY; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; and five sisters, Jennie Hulbert, Dorothy Osterhaudt, Norma Yoder, Jessie Claxton Moyer, and Margie Dotterrer.

June was born on June 7, 1934 in Denmark, the daughter of the late Leon and Ella McGibney Hayes.  She attended Lowville Academy Central School.  On August 11, 1951, she married Cecil L. Allen at the United Methodist Church of Lowville, a loving union spanning nearly 63 years until Cecil’s passing on May 20, 2014.  June was a homemaker and raised her family.  In 1969 she began working at Lowville Academy in the cafeteria as a food service helper and cook, a job she greatly enjoyed. In 2016, she moved to the Village Green Apartments in Lowville.

June enjoyed reading, knitting, playing cards with friends, and attending sporting events.

She was a member of the Lowville United Methodist Church.
