Together they raised three very loving children, a daughter, Penny (Jay) Ames of Glenfield; a son Jesse (Jennifer) Mooney of Glenfield; and a son Robert (Laura) Mooney of Glenfield; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he is also survived by four brothers, Richard (Mona) Mooney of Port Leyden; Ted (Darlene) Mooney of Port Leyden; Jerry Mooney of Port Leyden; Keith (Nancy) Mooney of Port Leyden; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Mooney of Port Leyden; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe attended country school in Lyonsdale, Port Leyden and South Lewis. After which he spent his life logging with his brothers, then later with his children, retiring for health reasons. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his one real passion was spending time with his family playing cards.
Joe’s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Lewis County Search & Rescue, the New York State Troopers, Lewis County Sheriff’s Department and Iseneker Funeral Home for their kindness and support. We are very thankful.
