John R. West

GLENFIELD – John R. West, 65, of Blue street, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Albany Medical Center.

There will be no calling hours.  A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 AM, Friday September 6, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glenfield with Rev. Douglas Decker officiating.  Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery. A luncheon at 3-G fire hall will follow the burial.  Food donations may be dropped off at the firehall Friday morning, starting at 8 a.m.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Lowville. 

He is survived by one daughter, Mckayla West of Lyons Falls; a brother, Walter West of Glenfield; and several cousins.  He is predeceased by his parents.

John was born on July 5, 1959 in Lowville, a son of the late James and Lois Ramsey West.  He graduated from South Lewis Highschool with the class of 1978 and worked alongside his father as a carpenter until his father’s passing.  He then worked for Mark’s Farm. 

John was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glenfield and was an active member of the 3-G fire department.

He enjoyed camping and carpentry.
