John Roggie Obituary

CROGHAN- John N. Roggie, 93, of Steepleview Courts, passed away at his home on Friday, June 19, 2026.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Croghan Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A calling hour will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service, at the church. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

He is survived by his children, Judy Wood, Bradley Roggie, and Julie (Carlos) Lake; six grandchildren, Francisco Lake, Rosalyn Lake, Rosanni Lake, Benjamin Wood, C.J. Lake, Adrian Lake; a sister, Mary (Eugene) Kloster; a brother-in-law Raymond Larkins; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his siblings, Pearl N. Roggie, Whilmina N. Fleming, Barbara N. Augustyn, Charlotte N. Crouse, Jean N. Paul, Anna N. Rubar, Lena R. Gadbaw, Margaret N. Hanno, and Elizabeth N. Larkins.

John was born at home in Belfort, NY on April 6, 1933, a son of the late John L. and Anna Nafziger Roggie. John worked at the Latex Mill in Beaver Falls and was a handyman painting roofs and houses, farming, cow clipping, and working in Martin’s sugarbush.  A marriage to Lucille Ann Perkins ended in divorce.

John was a member of Croghan Mennonite Church.  He loved his children, son-in-law, grandchildren, and his church family. He looked forward to Sundays to go to church, and watched the television show “In Search of the Lord’s Way” prior to going to church.  John enjoyed puzzles, ball games and the jamboree. He liked watching television, especially Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie. He enjoyed his sweets, especially lemon meringue pie. John loved animals, especially his grand dog, Spot.
