CROGHAN- Jeffery A. “Jeff” Bruckman, 66, of Erie Canal Road,
passed away on Saturday morning, May 4, 2024 at Samaritan Medical
Center, Watertown, with his family by his side.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Joan, and two sons and
daughters-in-law, Greg and Kari of Croghan and Aaron and Ashley of
LaFayette. To his treasured grandsons, Clint, Landon, Luke, and Cal,
Jeff was affectionately known as “Opa.”
Jeff is additionally survived by his siblings, Bruce and Tammy Branagan
of Port Leyden; Joyce Branagan and her companion, Duane Kloster of
Castorland; Amy Morrow of Turin; Brenda and Brian Ashline of
Carthage; Gail and Bruce Stone of Turin; Michael and Emily Branagan
of Turin as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is predeceased by a nephew, Jerome Branagan; and a niece Emily
Ashline.
Jeffery was born on November 5, 1957 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Herbert
and Shirley Bruckman Branagan and graduated from Beaver
River Central School in 1975. On May 6, 1988, he married the former
Joan Campany in New Bremen, NY. Jeff worked at Climax in
Castorland beginning in 1976, and later in Lowville for a total of 32
years. He then worked at Aries Chemical in Beaver Falls for 13 years,
retiring in January 2021. After retirement, Jeff could be found hunting, fishing
with his grandchildren, spending time with his family and dogs at Soft Maple, or
volunteering at the Food Pantry. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved
the New York Yankees.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 3-6pm on Saturday,
May 18 at American Legion Post #1663 in Croghan. All are welcome.
A graveside service will be held privately and at the convenience of the
family in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery, Belfort, with Pastor Wayne
Arnold officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lowville
Food Pantry, Trinity Ave., Lowville, NY 13367 or Lewis County Humane Society,
P.O Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367 in Jeff’s honor. Arrangements are with Iseneker
Funeral Home Inc., Lowville.
