GLENFIELD – Gerald D. “Doug” LaMont, 64, of North Chases Lake Road, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home under the care of his loving bride, daughter, and son-in-law, with the loving support of his sister Chris and her husband John.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday January 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.at the 3-G Fire Hall on Blue Street in Glenfield, all are welcome.  Any food donations may be taken directly to the firehall on Saturday, January 4, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made in Doug’s name to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, N.Y. 14240.  Arrangements are in the care of Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

He is survived by his loving bride, Rhonda; two daughters, Bondeana (Kevin) Burdick of Glenfield; Ashley LaMont (Chris) of Glenfield; three stepchildren, James (Kati) Farney of Lowville; Shauna (Dan)  Roggie of Lowville; Erica Farney (Matt) of Glenfield; eight grandchildren; a sister, Chris (John) Pacella of Pillar Point; a nephew Jax; and cousins.  He is predeceased by both of his parents.

Doug was born on August 21, 1960 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Gerald Alton and Ruth Mae Stoffle LaMont.  He graduated from Lowville Academy Central School in 1979 and worked at Don’s Ford for five years and then at Davidson Chevrolet for a time. On December 31 1993 he was united in marriage to Rhonda V. Brouty at the Watson Town Barn with Town Justice Andrea Moroughan officiating, a blessed union of nearly 31 years.  Doug was an avid businessman and owned and operated businesses through the years.  His first business was Doug’s Auto Body, which he opened in 1982 and operated until 2015.  He also owned and operated Backwoods Greenery with his wife from 2001 to 2014.  He was a bus driver for Indian River Central School and part-time for Lowville Academy.  In 2009, Doug and his daughter established their dream business, LaMont’s Food Fair.  Most recently he had worked as a snowplow driver at Fort Drum during the winter months.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, camping, and spending time with family.
