LOWVILLE- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Raymond B. Walsemann, 69, of Woodlawn Avenue on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Wynn Hospital, Utica, after a brief illness.

Calling hours will be on Friday, September 27, from 4 to 6 PM and Saturday September 28, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Iseneker Funeral Home, 5702 Waters Road, Lowville.  A funeral service will follow calling hours at 12 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Sunnyside Cemetery, Naumburg.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Raymond’s name may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY  13367 or North Country Pet Adoption Services, P.O. Box 217, Glenfield, NY 13343.

Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; four children, Erica Walsemann and her children Taylor and Gage and Taylor’s daughter Wrenlynn, all of Lowville; Bryan Walsemann of Watertown; Evan and Crystal Walsemann of Theresa; and Race Walsemann of Sodus; four step children, Derek and Jennie Baker and their children Lou Lou Mae and Owen of Georgia; Josh and Jessica Baker and their children Harrison, Warren, and Bennett all of Carthage; Zachary Baker of Indiana; and Kelsey Pitts and Brian Ackerman and their children, Hayden and Paisely all of Sandy Creek; three siblings, Gail and Henry Herring of Alexander City, AL; Gary and Susan Walsemann of Alexander City, AL; and Annette Hooper of North Carolina; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Greg Hooper.

Raymond was born on December 26, 1954 in Watertown, a son of the late Raymond O. Walsemann and Thelma Saunders Walsemann Camidge.  He attended Carthage Central School, graduating with the class of 1973. Upon graduation, he worked for Barrett paving for a year before attending Canton ATC for two years.  Raymond then attended Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, GA, graduating in 1978.   Raymond began his 46-year career as a chiropractor joining his brother, Gary, and sister-in-law, Susan, at Walsemann Chiropractic Life Center in Claremont, New Hampshire for seven years.   Soon thereafter, Raymond returned to Carthage and opened his own chiropractor practice, which he moved to Lowville in 1994 and was presently operating as a full spine practitioner specializing in the upper cervical spine.

Raymond was a born-again Christian who spoke of, lived by, and loved the Lord with all his heart.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, the lake and boat rides with his family and canine companions, Patch and Thelma, and helping people especially senior citizens. Raymond was a member of the International Chiropractic Association.
