GLENFIELD- Dorothy Maude Olin, 87, of Pine Grove Road, passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at her home, under the loving care of her family and Lewis County Hospice.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday November 1, 2025 at West Lowville Rural Cemetery with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating. Calling hours are from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service, at the Iseneker Funeral Home Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville. There will be no funeral service. Contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367.
She is survived by her children, Kay Ann Olin of Glenfield; Scott Francis and Donna Olin of Glenfield; a brother, Stanley (Yvonne) Spencer of Lowville; a sister, Laura Hill of Lowville, and her fiancé, David Gardner of Barnes Corners; two sisters-in-law, Linda Spencer of Lowville, Marlene Spencer of Lowville, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy is also survived by her kitty cat, Zara, and her puppy, Rocky. She is predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, who passed away on November 7, 1990; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond (Sally) Spencer; four brothers, Richard “Tony” Spencer, Glenn H. Spencer Sr., Carl Spencer, and George Spencer; a sister, Doris Louise Spencer, who died in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Richard Hill.
Dorothy was born in Lowville, a daughter of the late Willard J. and Lillian Presley Spencer. She attended Lowville Academy. Dorothy married Lloyd Francis Olin at the family home at Hamlin’s Corners. She raised her family, while working at the LeHav Motel for Helen and Joe Cody. Dorothy later worked as a waitress at the Rohring Brook Diner for the Fayle family and Beaches Landing for the Schantz family before working for Paul Virkler at Steak ‘N Brew for 30 years as the head waitress. Paul and Dorothy worked together for 40 years.
Dorothy enjoyed helping others, and enjoyed all of her customers through the years. She enjoyed going on cruises, taking little rides, and macramé.
