Donald Mealus

LYONS FALLS-Donald R. Mealus, 80 of Lyons Falls, passed away August 29, 2026 at Wynn Hospital.  

In keeping with Don's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.  

He is survived by two nieces Julie (Steve) Cummings, Cherie (Kenny) Mealus; two great-nieces, Heather (Mark) Holland, Megan (Ben) Bradish and a sister-in-law, Joyce Mealus.  He is predeceased by his brothers, Jim Mealus and Doug Mealus. 

Don was born on February 13, 1946 in Lowville, a son of the late Howard and Rose Carrera Mealus.  He attended country school at Burdick's Crossing and General Martin High School.  After graduation, he continued to operate the family dairy farm with his twin brother Doug until their retirement in 2010.  Don was an avid outdoorsmen and one of his greatest passions was hunting at the North Pond Club. He also enjoyed fishing, riding ATV and family gatherings.
