LOWVILE/MEDWAY, OH- Darwin W. Bauer, 85, of Medway, Ohio, formerly of Lowville, passed away at his home on May 16, 2024.
He is survived by three children, Dale Bauer of Palmetto, FL, Debra and Don Allen of Spring, TX, Doreen and Herman Barfield, of Pikeville, TN; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; a sister, Marilyn Williams of Lowville, a brother, Charles Bauer of Buna, TX; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Darwin was born on August 23, 1938 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Charles and Bernice Hawk Bauer. He attended school locally and served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960. Darwin worked as a gas fueler for Stevenson Aviation, Vandalia, OH for many years, until his retirement. He was a hunter and volunteer firefighter for Bethel Township Fire Department in Medway, Ohio.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Noon on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Old Glendale Cemetery with Pastor Denise Bowen officiating. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
