Daniel Finnegan, Jr. Obituary

LOWVILLE-Daniel J. Finnegan Jr, 29, of O’Brien Road, Lowville, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 2nd 2021 at his home under the loving care of his family.

Calling hours will be held at Iseneker Funeral Home Inc. on Friday, February 5th, 2021 from 1:00-4:30pm followed by closing prayers by Nate Patnode, Pastor of Bethel Church of Nazarene, Lowville, officiating. Burial will be held in the West Lowville Cemetery in the spring with a Celebration of Life for family and friends.

Daniel was born on February 27th 1991 in Syracuse, NY the son of Daniel and Christine Marsh Finnegan. He attended Oswego High School and Oswego BOCES for heavy equipment. He worked for the city of Oswego DPW until moving his family in February 2018 to Lowville, NY where he started his employment as a heavy equipment operator for the Watertown DPW. On August 19th, 2017 Daniel married Rachel Bray at their home in Sterling, NY with close friends and family by their side.

Anyone who knew Daniel knew his love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who wanted to pass down the love of the sport to his children. Dan also loved the simple life. His dream was to have a small hobby farm with miniature herefords, chickens, and maybe even a donkey to greet him as he drove in the driveway after work. He always was able to see the beauty in the world around him. He loved to watch the sunset with his wife and was always pointing out the moon and the stars. Dan was very laid back, and didn’t allow much to get to him. He was most happy with a cold beer in his hand while enjoying the company of those he loved. Dan was also the life of any party, his laugh was contagious, and dance moves one of a kind. Dan was known by many for his corny dad jokes and always getting people to smile. Dan had a heart of gold, and had a tremendous love for his wife, children, family and friends. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Dan loved him and his zest for life. Dan will be missed so much by those who loved him.

Daniel is survived by the love of his life, Rachel; two sons, Gage age 8 and Rhett, age 2; his parents Daniel and Christine Finnegan of Minetto; a sister and brother in law, Shannon and Matthew Saccone, and their children, Arianna, Giovanni and Julianna of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his father and mother in law, Jerry and Bridgett Bray of Lowville; a sister in law, Tia Bray (Dylan Danks) and their children MaKenna Bray and Skyler Danks of Copenhagen; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and a group of friends who are considered family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a fund set up for his children. Checks may be made payable to Rachel Finnegan and mail in c/o Daniel and Christine Finnegan, PO Box 63, Minetto, NY 13115.
