To the VanPatten Family--I played trombone with Dale in the Lowville Village Band. It won't be the same without him, and I will miss his zany sense of humor and excellent musicianship. My prayers are with your family as you adjust to life without him, and I look forward to playing with him in the great by and by someday.

Beryl and family - I'm sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I hadn't seen him since I stopped playing in the Village Band when my Dad was ill.  I remember when he was my racker at Beaverite.  He was very good at what ever he did. My thoughts and prayers to all of you.

It has been my extreme pleasure to have been in the lower brass section of several bands and ensembles which Dale so faithfully participating in over many years. Dale was a always a joy to work with, funny, extremely humble but always seeking to perform at his best. Dale will be sorely missed but God can always use another fine trombonist in his Heavenly orchestra.

Beryl,

I am so very sorry to hear that Dale has passed.  I spoke with him recently and he made it clear that if he was to die, that he just hoped it would be at home. I am so glad you were able to have him at home in the end.  Like all of his musician friends at JCC, I will miss him greatly. We have been sitting together and playing trombone together for about 25 years. It just won't be the same anymore.

Please extend my condolences to all of Dales family.

It is so hard for words to express my deepest sympathy to Beryl, Vangie, JP (JonPaul) , and all the grandchildren and great grandkids. I also worked with Dale for many years and I gave him rides to work and the talks we had on our travels. Dale was an amazing man with a very great heart  for all. I will miss him and our chat and his beautiful music he played everywhere. Heaven is full of music welcoming into his new home well and NO MORE PAIN Praise
GOD for that. So glad we stopped in to see him when we did he was able to chat with us what he could. It won't be easy for a while adjusting to him not present but as time travels you will remember all the wonderful memories you had. God Bless you all and I will do my best to stay in touch. We are so very sorry Beryl, Vangie, and JP that you have lost one of the loves of your life.  We first met Dale and Beryl 48 years ago and they were great friends of ours.  We have spent many pleasant times in their home as they have in ours.  He will truly be missed.  Our kids love VP as they were used to call him.  Heaven is rejoicing  with him and he is no doubt in the Heavenly band playing his trombone.  Our prayers go with you during the next few days and beyond as you get use to life without Dale.  He was like family to us.  You too shall see him again some day.  Love and hugs. Bruce and Ruth
