PORT LEYDEN – Warren C. Levensailor, 81, of Moose River Rd., Port Leyden, passed away on Sunday evening, May 21, 2017, at Lewis County General Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., 5702 Waters Road, Lowville, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.  Calling hours will be from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the funeral home.  Immediately following the graveside service on Friday, a gathering will be held at the home of Warren Jr. and Sue Levensailor, 8072 Moose River Rd., Port Leyden, NY 13433.  All are welcome.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 27 years, Claris; eight children, Warren and Charlotte Levensailor of Port Leyden; Michael and Cynthia Levensailor of Old Forge; Marylou and Dale Hawk of Port Leyden; Timothy Levensailor of Lyons Falls; Thomas Levensailor of Glenfield; Jody Levensailor, at home; Tina and Richard Compo of Port Leyden; Penny and Joseph LoCash of Forestport; three step-children, Sheila Croneiser and her companion, Jim Trombley of Lyons Falls; Bill and Terri Croneiser of Turin; Ramona Croneiser of Boonville; 15 grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by a step-daughter and her husband, Charleen A. and Lawrence A. Kirk, Jr., a brother, Charles Levensailor and a sister, Betty Graves.

Warren was born on October 14, 1935 at home in Lyonsdale, a son of the late Leonard L. and Blanche Windecker Levensailor.  He attended country school on the Moose River Road before attending Port Leyden School.  He worked for the New York State Conservation Corp in Dadville, and then was employed by Ethan Allen in Boonville for many years.  Following that, he worked for Payne Construction in Boonville for a short time.  On January 20, 1990 he married Claris Edick at the Nicholls Memorial Presbyterian Church in Old Forge with Rev. Ulrich officiating.  He retired as Back Tender from Burrows Paper Company in Lyonsdale.

He was a member of Tannery Tract Hunting Club, as well as a lifetime member of Lyons Falls Fish and Game Club.  He was a past member of Boonville Rod and Gun Club.

Warren enjoyed attending garage sales, woodworking and watching racing at Adirondack International Speedway.  Most of all, he loved hunting and visiting with family and friends.
