Todd Kloster Obituary

HARRISVILLE-On June 23, 2019, Todd Kloster, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 52.

Todd was born on January 19, 1967 in Lowville, NY to Francis, Jr. and Sally (Chartrand) Kloster. He graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1985 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1985 to 1989. On May 26, 1989, he married Linda J. Proulx and enjoyed 30 wonderful years of marriage.

He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller for 29 years, where he was known for his leadership, integrity, and kindness. He retired in November 2018 as a Front Line Manager at the New York TRACON, after previously working at Westchester County and LaGuardia Airports.

Todd will be missed by his wife Linda, children Danielle and Dylan, both of Harrisville, mother Sally Shaw of Croghan, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Walt Hartshorne of Indian River, brother Joey Kloster of Belfort, sister Darlene Hawkins of Syracuse, and sister and brother-in-law Laurie and Bryant Weaver of Conway, SC, as well as many others. He was predeceased by his father, Francis Kloster, Jr., brother Jeffrey Kloster, and niece Amy Jo Kloster-Malo.

Todd was a member of the Whispering Pines and Balsam Creek Hunting Clubs and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, riding ATVs, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, New York Yankees, and Syracuse men’s basketball team. He was co-captain of Team Proulx raising over $20,000 for the American Brain Tumor Association. Todd will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving and supportive father, and caring friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand. He touched many lives through his leadership, setting a high bar but always helping others reach it. Throughout his difficult journey with cancer, Todd remained rooted in his faith and kept his great sense of humor. He has left the world a better place than he found it and will be greatly missed.
