Philip Salerno Obituary

Philip M. Salerno, age 38, of Burke, VA, passed away on January 26, 2018 after a courageous battle with Leukemia.  You suck Leukemia!

He was born on December 17, 1979 in Plainfield, NJ to Philip Salerno and Dina (DiFabrizio) Salerno.  On April 6, 2002 he married the love of his life, Jewel (Moshier) Salerno.  He graduated from Timothy Christian School in 1998 and went on to be a missionary with Youth With A Mission, Metro, NY.  He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Syracuse University and obtained his CPA in 2012.  He served his country as a civilian for 11 years with the three different agencies; first, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, second, The Department of Army and finally, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.  His greatest accomplishment was being a Dad to Scarlett and Rowan and his unwavering faith in Jesus, up until his passing.

Philip is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jewel, and his two children, Scarlett Elisabeth and Rowan Philip.  His parents Philip and Dina Salerno, and brother, Mario Salerno.  He is survived by his Paternal Grandmother, Mary Salerno.  He is also survived by his in-laws, Mark and Dawn Moshier, two brothers-in-law, Galen (Cheryl) Moshier and Andre (Misty) Moshier, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Philip was preceded in death by two infant children; maternal grandparents, Mario and Lillian DiFabrizio; paternal grandfather, Anthony Salerno.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018.  Viewing will be from 1-4 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Calvary Tabernacle, 69 Myrtle Ave., Cranford, N.J. 07016.  Spring burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery, Lowville, New York.

In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Breakout Ministries 1040 Anchor Avenue Beachwood, NJ 08722.  All contributions will be used for Scarlett and Rowan's education.  Please indicate that the donation is for the Salerno children.
