LOWVILLE-Maynard D. Hirschey, 92 passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017 at the Lewis County Residential Facility.

Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, 5702 Waters Rd, Lowville, NY.  A prayer service ­­­­will immediately follow the calling hours with James Trainham, Associate Pastor of Bethel Church of the Nazarene, officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to New Bremen Fire Department.  A luncheon will follow at the New Bremen Fire Department, all are welcome.  Please feel free to bring a dish to pass. 

Maynard was born November 16, 1925 in the Town of New Bremen, NY, a son of the late Ira J. and Bessy Trowbridge Hirschey and attended country school in New Bremen.  He served in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged in January, 1950.  On July 19, 1950, he married Sally Jane Hulbert at the Lowville United Methodist Church parsonage.  He worked for Hoch Bros. in Lowville, as a truck drive until his retirement.  Mrs. Hulbert died on February 22, 1999.  Maynard was a past member of Lowville American Legion #162, and a longtime honorary member of the New Bremen Fire Department.  He enjoyed fishing and watching deer.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildreMaynard is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Peggy Hirschy of Lowville, Maynard “Bruce” and Debra Hirschey of Lyons Falls, Michael and Connie Hirschey of Lowville, ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is predeceased by his wife, Sally, two daugthters and a son-in law, Bonnie and Anthony “Dudo” Kloster, and Kathy Woods; three grandchildren, Sally Ann, John and Cory; and four brothers, Nathan, Junior, Elmer, and Clyde Hirschey; and two sisters, Betty and Arlene.
